Natural Wellness Tips
Wellness isn't about being perfect, it's about small choices that can make a big difference. Here are some wellness tips that help us in feeling our best naturally.
- Drink a glass of water when you wake
(Warm water is even more beneficial). Before coffee and breakfast. This may help rehydrate your body after sleep, aid digestion, enhance skin health, and boost your energy. - Skip the scroll
Scrolling on your phone right after waking up can negatively impact your mental and physical health by triggering stress, causing eye strain, and affecting your brain's ability to focus for the day. Instead, try starting your day with activities like meditating, journalling your goals, stretching, practicing mindfulness & gratitude, prayer, positive affirmations, reading, listening to high vibrational or healing music, getting fresh air and sunlight, or exercising. - Connect with nature
Grounding yourself and connecting with the Earth may be one of the best ways to reduce stress. It can also boost your mood, improve blood circulation, enhance sleep quality, reduce inflammation, and may increase overall happiness. Many people find spending time in nature helps reduce stress, calm their nerves, improve mood and feel more grounded.
- Speak positively to yourself + others
Positive self-talk can influence how you perceive life. Think kind, encouraging thoughts to yourself, especially as soon as you wake and go to sleep as your brain is sensitive in this state, and try to stay positive whenever possible. - Practice mindfulness
Mindfulness activities such as meditation, journalling, sitting in silence or deep breathing exercises, can reduce stress, improve focus, and may increase overall happiness. Even meditating or sitting in silence for just 5-10 minutes a day can have a significant impact and may help your brain to slow down, and to be able to hear your own inner voice. - Get plenty of sleep to wake up feeling rejuvenated
Consistent sleep is key to maintaining both physical and mental well being. Try to go to sleep and wake up at the same time everyday ~ even on weekends to maintain consistency.
- Eat a well-balanced diet
Eating whole foods can support your mental health, general health, and weight management. Try to avoid overly processed and fried foods as some may contain carcinogens. Be sure to include plenty of fruit and vegetables in your daily meal plan as they contain radiant, hydrating nutrients which may help you in feeling your best. - Get your daily dose of natural vitamin D
The sun gives all life on Earth. Just 10 minutes of sun exposure each day can help boost your mood! If you work in an office environment, consider taking your lunch break outside. Sunlight helps your body to produce vitamin D, which may support in improving your mental health. Remember to always protect your skin with a non-toxic sunscreen or natural zinc, shade or appropriate clothing during peak UV times. - Limit exposure to blue light
Technology is a big part of our daily lives, but try to limit exposure to blue light as this can cause eye strain, especially at night and before bed. Consider investing in blue light block glasses or adjusting your screen to a warm tone to reduce its impact.
- Move your body everyday
Regular movement plays a big part in physical and mental health. Whether it’s a short walk, yoga, dancing, weight training or even jumping on a trampoline, moving your body every day can help reduce stress, boost mood, give you natural energy and may improve overall mental and physical health. - Set goals + incorporate a routine
Following a routine and setting goals can help you stay on track, feel more purposeful and remain consistent. You can also try learning something new or picking up a new hobby to keep things fresh and motivating. Getting out of your comfort zone triggers personal growth so don't be shy ~ put yourself out there and try something new! - Stay socially connected
Maintaining connections with friends, family, loved ones and even strangers can be the key to happiness. Social support may help reduce stress and loneliness. Sometimes we may get too consumed in AI and technology that we forget about the importance of human connection. Make time to connect with others regularly, even if it's complimenting a stranger or sparking a conversation with the checkout attendant. One conversation can make someone's whole day and kindness is free.
